SafeTruck Corporate Retreat and Employee Appreciation 2023

Dear Valued SafeTruck Community,

We are delighted to share the exciting highlights of our recent corporate retreat and employee appreciation event on November 24th – 25th, 2023, at the Ixora Hotel, Penang. This two-day extravaganza perfectly blended professional development, team building, and festive celebration.

Day 1: Morning Session

The retreat commenced with Mr. Wilson giving the opening speech, thus inaugurating the event. As top management, Mr Wilson and Ms Yin Yin delved into discussions on the company’s 2023 revenue, product roadmap and upcoming 2024 planning, including the launch of new products and strategy on strengthening the international market. Then, a departure presentation featuring all the heads of departments. This session outlined the team’s job scopes and collaborative planning for the upcoming year, setting the stage for an ambitious and prosperous 2024.

Following the insightful presentation, Mr Ooi, the head of the sales team, led an engaging and thought-provoking training session centred around the E + R = O formulation method. This challenged participants to assess their mindset in different situations and emphasized the importance of taking ownership of outcomes. The highlight of the morning was the team-building game, the Helium Stick.

Helium Stick Team-Building Game: Shifting Perspectives for Success

As participants embarked on the Helium Stick challenge, they encountered unexpected twists when the rod moved in a direction opposite to that intended. The game revealed insightful observations about teamwork and problem-solving. Initially, fingers were pointed, and blame was assigned, but a crucial learning point emerged as the stick rose. Questions like “Why is this happening?” and “How can we develop another strategy?” paved the way for a collaborative and solution-oriented mindset.

Retreat Dinner Night

We brought the SafeTruck family together in the evening for a vibrant Deepavali dinner celebration. The atmosphere was lively as all staff committed to celebrating in Bollywood attire, adding an extra layer of joy and camaraderie to the night. The festivities continued with the Long Service Awards and recognition for the Bowling Tournament 2023, further underscoring our appreciation for the dedication and skills of our outstanding team members.

To heighten the excitement, the lucky draw session added an extra layer of anticipation, creating an unforgettable experience for everyone present. Mr. Joelton, our Head of Business Development, then hosted an exhilarating array of fun games, bringing additional enthusiasm to the evening.

Day 2: Recap Session and Town Hall

On the second day, we commenced with a recap session by Mr Ong, our esteemed corporate consultant. Focusing on the town hall session, employees could delve into the company’s goals, provide feedback, and reinforce the company culture. The town hall was a platform for open communication, fostering a sense of belonging and shared commitment to SafeTruck’s vision.

The retreat was a resounding success, energizing and motivating us for the challenges and triumphs ahead. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who made this event memorable and meaningful.
